Robert E. Beamish Award October 2005

The CCORT Canadian Cardiovascular Atlas series authors received the 2005 Robert E. Beamish Award from the Canadian Cardiovascular Society. Mr. Robert Kalina, Pulsus Group Inc. (publishers of the Canadian Journal of Cardiology) presented the award at the 2005 Canadian Cardiovascular Congress in Montreal, Quebec. Dr. Jack Tu, CCORT Team Leader, accepted the award on behalf of the team. The award acknowledges the first author of an original research article judged to have had the greatest potential impact on cardiovascular medicine, and is given in honour of the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Cardiology, Robert E. Beamish. The award included an Aboriginal Sculpture entitled "Loon in the Mist" and a plaque for the lead author of each article in the 24 paper CCORT Atlas series.
