Enhanced Feedback for Effective Cardiac Treatment (EFFECT) study results published in JAMA

The EFFECT study, one of Canada's largest initiatives aimed at measuring and improving the quality of cardiac care, involved 86 hospital corporations in Ontario, Canada.

The primary results of the EFFECT study were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and presented at the American Heart Association (AHA) scientific sessions (late-breaking clinical science track) meeting in Orlando, Florida on November 18, 2009.

All participating Ontario hospitals have been provided with information regarding their performance in the follow up phase of the EFFECT study.  These reports along with publication of the primary trial results mark the conclusion of the EFFECT study.
